Origin and Terroir
How Coffee Origin Influences Flavour
Altitude, climate, and variety shape what a coffee can taste like. A country name is a map reference, not a single flavour.

Kenya · Light
Blackcurrant and a sharp, juicy cup. A light roast from Nyeri.

Nyeri is on the slopes around Mount Kenya. AA is a screen size, the larger bean grade, not a quality medal. Kenya’s washed coffees are often fermented twice, which is one reason the cup is so bright. Expect blackcurrant and a savoury edge some people call tomato. It is not a mild coffee.
The fruit is removed before drying. The cup is usually cleaner, and acidity is easier to taste.
A light roast keeps more of the origin. Fruit and florals show. The roast itself stays in the background.
